Öggwald®

A development of the traditional rocking chair

Öggwald combines the rocking chair's advantages with also being able to lock the movement in different inclinations. You can swing or you lock the movement with the Rock-Stop mechanism. There are four different positions on the incline, from sitting work position all the way to power-nap position.

Three features that make Öggwald unique

1. Asymmetric rockers

The smaller radius of the rockers at the back end facilitates the rocking movement. It is enough to move your hands a little back and forth on the armrests to start the rocking. In the picture you can also see the small work table that you can place in front of you on top of the armrests.

2. Flexible leg support

The leg support is recessed under the seat and leaves the front space free when you sit down. In the unfolded position, you put your legs up as if on a recliner (the small picture shows the leg support in the retracted position).

3. Rock-Stop Mechanic

With the Rock-Stop mechanism, the rocking movement can be locked in several different angles/rest positions. You can also swing using the handle. The mechanism is made of stainless steel and is ball-bearing in the upper and lower attachment points.

Good for health

Studies show that a rocking chair is well-being for mental and physical health. The rocking motion provides a form of massage that stimulates balance, blood circulation and relieves pain, especially back problems.

The rocking movement can also be of great benefit to parents with small children who have difficulty falling asleep.

Made in Scania

Öggwald is manufactured in Beddingestrand, Sweden (between Trelleborg and Ystad). Just outside Trelleborg is the Stora Kulladal forgin, which manufactures the Rock-Stop mechanism. Trelleborgs Möbelservice sews cushions and neck pillows. The oak is from northern Scania.
